How do our Anti-wrinkle injections work for you?

When you meet with Katrina for your consultation, she will assess your skin to see which product will work best for you. She will explain the service to undergo & may begin treatments on the same day.

The longevity of each treatment varies. Katrina will give you comprehensive advice on which solution will give you the most natural, rejuvenated skin.

Anti-wrinkle injections will soften fine lines and wrinkles, while retaining your beautiful natural expression lines. Injections will also revitalise the appearance of your skin.

How do wrinkles form?

Wrinkles are a natural part of the ageing process. With age, our skin gets thinner, drier and we lose elastin. The ability of our skin to protect itself is reduced as we age. Eventually, wrinkles, creases, and lines form on our skin.

Continuous muscle contraction is also another major contributor to facial wrinkles. Continuous muscle movement causes 'dynamic wrinkles' which only appear when the muscle is used.

Over time, if untreated, these wrinkles can become 'static wrinkles' which means they become permanently etched in our skin.

What are the benefits of Anti-wrinkle injections?

  • Non-surgical solution

One of the best things about anti-wrinkle injections is that they don’t involve surgery, helping you to minimise your personal risk, recovery time and money spent.

  • Discomfort is minimal

Administered by a professional, injections are administered quickly and precisely using an extremely fine needle to ensure you feel little more than a pinprick. Upon request, a topical anaesthetic may be applied before treatment to numb the skin and decrease any discomfort.

  • After only a few days, you’ll look younger

With this non-invasive procedure, you will have minimal bruising or swelling. You’ll begin to notice the difference in your skin after approximately 3 days. Your skin will look smoother, plumper and more youthful.

  • Quick recovery time

Unlike surgical anti-ageing procedures, injectables have the advantage of a quick recovery time. The procedure generally only takes a few minutes (depending on the amount of sites) with zero down time post treatment.

  • Anti-wrinkle Injections are Preventative

You don’t have to have wrinkles to know you don’t want them in your future. While their main purpose is to improve or temporarily remove existing lines, anti-wrinkle injections can be used as a preventative measure to help soften the expression lines that form when your face moves and put the formation of future lines on pause.

  • Shape and Symmetry

Anti-wrinkle injections can do more than just reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles; they can also be used to lift certain parts of the face and balance asymmetrical features. Some of the more common treatment techniques include lifting heavy brows that can make the eyes appear smaller, softening a pronounced jawline, slimming the face, and correcting a gummy smile.

  • Results are Not Permanent

As the effects of this treatment aren’t permanent, we find that many of our first-time clients feel less intimidated by anti-wrinkle injections, compared to other more permanent cosmetic procedures. Katrina takes a customised approach for each client and we’re able to easily customise and adapt your treatment plan over time by increasing or decreasing dosage.

  • A Confidence Boost

anti-wrinkle treatments, we’ve found that both men and women report feeling more confident in their appearance. Some added benefits of treating targeted muscles can include a reduction in excessive sweating (in areas such as the underarms) and a reduction in habitual teeth grinding when treating the jaw muscles.

How do the injections work?

Using a needle, we inject the skin fold with neuromodulators. These neuromodulators block the chemical signal the brain sends to the muscle, telling it to contract. Basically, the treatment relaxes and lifts the muscles in your face, softening lines and giving you a smooth, fresh-faced appearance.

Anti-Wrinkle Injectables work to prevent the formation of static wrinkles by stopping the signal between the nerve and muscle.

The decreased movement in the muscle places less stress on the skin helping you maintain a fresh and youthful appearance. This treatment is most effective when used as a preventative measure.

Anti-Wrinkle Injectables are made from a purified protein that temporarily causes facial muscles to relax, softening lines and wrinkles and reducing the severity of visible wrinkles.

Which areas can you treat with Anti-wrinkle injections?

We commonly treat:

  • Crow's feet (the lines around the outer eye)
  • The lines between your eyebrows (also called the glabella)
  • Forehead crinkles

We can also treat wrinkles around the nose, along the jaw-line, chin, and neck.

Do Anti-wrinkle injections hurt?

The discomfort you may feel is very minimal. The needles we use are very fine and small. Because of the treatment is quite quick, many are surprised at how little discomfort is involved.

Are Anti-wrinkle injections the same as dermal fillers?

No. Anti-wrinkle injections work by inhibiting muscle movement beneath the skin. Dermal fillers, on the other hand, add volume and can add definition to you face.

Results

While Cosmetic Injectables are a relatively time-friendly and convenient treatment, it can take anywhere from 2-7 days for you to see a difference, with the full effect visible after two weeks. Something to remember when you’re timing your treatment for a special event.

How long do Anti-wrinkle injections last?

Most anti-wrinkle injections most last between 3 and 6 months. Their lifespan will largely depend on your skin and how much time you spend in the sun.
